Hathersage, Hope Valley - an ideal place to stay

Hathersage is a large attractive village in the beautiful Hope Valley within the Peak District National Park.

Stunning countryside and fabulous facilities

The village has a hotel, four public houses, two banks, several coffee shops and a heated outdoor swimming pool (Summer only). Hathersage is surrounded by fabulous countryside and is an ideal location for all kinds of outdoor activities. To the north of the village rising steeply is Stanage Edge, ideal for climbing, and to the south is the River Derwent with its riverside walks.

Pubs, cafes, outdoor shops and an Indian restaurant

The main road in Hathersage has three outdoor shops, which reflect the needs of today's visitors to Hathersage, one of which has its own café. The four pubs in the village, the Little John, Plough Inn, Scotsman’s Pack and Millstone Inn all serve food. There is a deli serving sandwiches and light meals plus a bakery also serving sandwiches. A recent addition to the village is the organic restaurant that has received excellent reviews. There are also two cafes serving light snacks, breakfasts or meals. Last but not least there is the Indian Restaurant that also does take-aways. All there to help re-fuel visitors after the long days walking, climbing or cycling the bridleways of the Hope Valley. If you prefer to cook your own meals the village also has a butcher, green grocer and two convenience stores.
